Seine River Minor Ball - 2021 Season Update

May 3, 2021

Hello parents!

We are posting this message in order to keep parents and volunteers up to date with the upcoming 2021 season (Baseball and Softball).

We would like to start by thanking all those who have already begun to help out as volunteers.  We have all our coaches, but some teams are still looking for assistants, managers or a health and safety coordinators.  These are not difficult tasks, but the need is there in order to ensure that your children have a great and safe season of ball.

Thank You! to all who came out to volunteer their time to help ready the park.  We very much appreciate the help. The turnout was amazing and we filled over 200 bags of leaves. The park looks great!  If you are still looking to fulfill your volunteer requirements, do not hesitate to peruse the volunteer slots posted on our web page  www.srmb.ca

The current Public Health Orders are making watching games and practices a little more challenging.  Currently, for both Baseball and Softball, only one (1) parent per child is allowed to be present at the diamond. No siblings are allowed. If you are a coach, assistant, manager or health and safety coordinator, your child will be allotted a second parent ‘spot’. For LTP, a parent must be present on the field at all times.

Softball and Baseball practices will begin imminently, if they have not already been scheduled.  You will notice the season has been pushed back due to the new parameters surrounding indoor practices.  Softball games will be starting next week and Baseball will be starting in June. Please note that the LTP and 9U (Grand Slam) season will be held from May to the end of June. All other leagues will continue into July.

Refund Policy for 2021. The refund policy for 2021 will be as follows:

Seine River Minor Ball collects registration fees for the following purposes:

  • start up costs for the season such as purchasing balls, equipment, etc.
  • pay administrative costs (website maintenance, credit card fees, etc)
  • payment of league fees to Baseball Manitoba, Carillon and Softball Manitoba (fees range from $17 to $45 per player based on age
  • umpire fees
  • reimbursement of coaching and umpire clinic fees
  • park maintenance and repairs
  • etc

Excess funds (if any) are used for the general betterment of the park and Baseball Club.

Due to the potential for changes in the provincial health restrictions, for 2021, Seine River Minor Ball will allow a player to cancel his or her registration for a full refund if done so by May 15, 2021. Cancellations initiated by the player after that date will not be issued a refund.

However, if there is a mid-season shut down/cancellation by Baseball Manitoba, Carillon or Softball Manitoba, Seine River Minor Ball will do its best to provide refunds.  Essential costs as listed above, however, will need to be covered first. If there are any surplus funds they will be refunded on a pro-rated basis which will be determined at that time.

If you have any questions about the above, please do not hesitate to contact SRMB Baseball at srmbbaseball@gmail.com and SRMB Softball at srmbsoftball@gmail.com .

Thank You!
